We Know What You're Doing on Bank Holiday Monday!

Durham Market Place will be full of street food, craft stalls and live music entertainment this coming Bank Holiday Monday.

On Monday 28 August, the Bank Holiday Full Moon Street Food Market featuring Live InDurham will take place in the Market Place between 11am and 6pm - an ideal way to entertain, and feed, the whole family.

The Full Moon Street Food Market will bring together some of the best street food providers in the North East serving savoury and sweet street food inspired by international cuisines. In addition, there will also be a craft market where you can shop from some of the region's most creative and artistic traders.  Especially laid on for the children, there will be Henna Tattoos, Face Painting, Sandart, as well as a children's ride (charges apply). And to top it off and create a brilliant atmosphere, local musicians will also be keeping the crowds entertained, with music performances throughout the day as part of an extra special Live InDurham.

The one-off event especially for Bank Holiday Monday has been organised by Durham Business Improvement District (Durham BID) – the organisation charged with marketing the City and its offer to people living locally, increasing footfall and encouraging return patronage – in collaboration with Durham Markets Company.

Live InDurham is a Durham BID initiative which sees talented local musicians produce a regular free-to-attend showcase on the third Thursday of every month, hosted by Connor Thomas and a cohort of other singers, songwriters and live performers. The Full Moon Markets bring together a range of quality local street food traders for monthly events in the Market Place.
