Street Food and Brass Together in Bishop Auckland

The Full Moon Street Food Market is joining the Big BRASS Bus when it comes to Bishop Auckland Market Place on Thursday 18th July.

For one month only, the popular monthly street food market is moving to a Thursday evening for this special event, which will combine live music with children’s entertainment and the street food stalls.

The Full Moon Street Food Market will be open in Bishop Auckland Market Place from 4 to 9pm, with a wide variety of food and drink vendors, supplying savoury and sweet food, and drinks. The Big BRASS Bus join the evening’s events between 6 and 8pm with performances by Back Chat Brass and Break Out Brass. Additionally for children, there will be free facepainting, storytelling and fairground rides between 4 and 8pm.

The evening’s events are supported by Cllr Sam Zair, with funding from the AAP Neighbourhood Budget and Small Grants Initiative.

Cllr Zair commented: “This promises to be an ideal evening to come out with friends and family into Bishop Auckland town centre. With the appeal of both the Big BRASS bus and the Full Moon Street Food Market, we hope we’ll also be welcoming people from further afield. It’s another opportunity to enjoy Bishop Auckland at its best, and a great boost for the local economy.”

Colin Wilkes, Managing Director of Durham Market which organises the Full Moon Market along with the Durham Street Food Project, added: “The evening street food markets are growing in popularity each month. Combining with the Big BRASS Bus in July will be an extra special evening with world-class live music, as well as food flavours from across the globe!

“We’d like to thank Cllr Zair for his support and wish everyone a thoroughly enjoyable summer’s evening in the heart of Bishop Auckland.”
