October's Farmers' and Producers' Market is here

From 9am on Thursday 19th October, the Farmers' and Producers' Market returns to the Market Place, bringing a fabulous selection of locally produced food and drink, hand-crafted items, art and more. And Mellanby's is back with their locally grown seasonal vegetables - always popular!

The Farmers' and Producers' Market is a great opportunity to support independent local businesses, ensure low food miles, and shop with traders who know all about what they're selling.

The Market will be open from 9am until approximately 4pm, or earlier if the stalls sell out (which sometimes happens).

Here's who you'll find at this Thursday's Farmers' and Producers' Market:

Broom House Farm - Aberdeen Angus beef, lamb & pork from this local organic farm

Westholme Farm - locally reared beef and lamb, as well as sausaged and burgers

Earth & Fire - wood-fired artisan bakery

ECC - hog roast and hot lunches

Phi Food - Greek food

The Green Guerilla - vegetarian and vegan street food

Durham Vintage - pre-loved fashion

Charlie's Country Kitchen - a variety of pies

Forget Me Not Celebrations - personalised handmade gifts

Manzana - Spanish foods

Darceys Candles - luxury scented candles

Screaming Chimp - chilli sauces

Busy Whisk - cheesecake and patisserie

Mikhail Andreev - alpaca yarn, hats, scarves, blankets

Emma Bowe - scented candles

Sea of Rivers - handcrafted jewellery with seaglass

Cafe Alfresco - fresh take-away hot drinks

Transition Durham - Harvest Food Share

We'll also have the Heartbeat bus in the City Centre, courtesy of Ayclife & District Preservation Society. This period bus has truly starred on the tv - and will be here in the Market Place.

We're open from 9am - and we look forward to seeing you!
