Durham Markets Company

Established 1851.

Welcome to Durham Markets.

Durham Markets Company has been operating markets in Durham City since 1851.

We own and operate Durham Market Hall, winner of Best Private Market in the UK, as well as operating a variety of other markets and events, both in Durham and in the North East. These include:

 - Durham City Farmers Market in the Market Place, held every third Thursday of the month from 9am

 - Durham's Saturday Outdoor Retail Market, in the Market Place every Saturday from 9am

 - Durham City Christmas Festival, taking place on the first full weekend in December

Plus occasional Continental Markets, Evening Markets and Sunday and Bank Holiday Markets in the Market Place.

We are inviting traders to join us for three very special markets in May, as we join the national Love Your Local Market (LYLM) fortnight of celebrations.  Please email colin@durhammarkets.co.uk if you're interested.

jam-and-jelly-2

We'd like to welcome our newest trader in the Market Hall.

Jam & Jelly joined us in March 2015, at unit 49, selling beautiful, fun, durable and affordable children's clothing.  Great for gifts, and obviously for clothing your own kids.  Find out more here, and visit them in the Market Hall at unit 49.

Each month, we host an Afternoon Tea together with Age UK County Durham in Cafe Cenno.  This is part of their 'Come Eat Together' scheme which encourages healthy eating alongside an opportunity to enjoy good company.  The Afternoon Teas are £4 per person, and there's entertainment arranged.  This is open to all over 60s, men and women and we'd love you to give it a try - everyone who's been so far has thoroughly enjoyed it.

Please come along and join us - our Afternoon Tea is on the 4th Tuesday of each month, and the next is 28th April.

Numbers are limited, so it is essential that you reserve your place in advance.  You can do that now by calling Age UK County Durham on 0191 374 6577 or by emailing cet@ageukcountydurham.org.uk.

We are also launching a Gentlemen's Breakfast with Age UK County Durham, on the third Wednesday of each month.  The first on Wednesday 20th May will give men the opportunity to enjoy great healthy food, good company - and the wit and wisdom of Graham Courtney of TalkSPORT.  Please use the number/ email above to reserve your place as places are, once again, limited.
