Durham Markets Company

Established 1851.

Welcome to Durham Markets.

Durham Markets Company has been operating markets in Durham City since 1851.

We own and operate Durham Market Hall, winner of Best Private Market in the UK, as well as operating a variety of other markets and events, both in Durham and in the North East. These include:

 - Durham City Farmers Market in the Market Place, held every third Thursday of the month from 9am

 - Durham's Saturday Outdoor Retail Market, in the Market Place every Saturday from 9am

 - Durham City Christmas Festival, taking place on the first full weekend in December

Plus occasional Continental Markets, Evening Markets and Sunday and Bank Holiday Markets in the Market Place.

Our next continental market arrives in Durham Market Place on Thursday 31st July, for four days.  For more details click here.

We are currently inviting food producers to apply to join us at a special market in the Cloisters of Durham Cathedral on Saturday 30th August, from 10am to 4pm.  This market is part of the Cathedral's involvement with Durham Flower Show, which is being held at Houghall College that weekend.  If you are interested, please see the application form here.  If you have any problems downloading of printing this form, please contact us using the telephone number or email below.

If you are a visitor to the Market, please go to 'About Us' for details about our history or browse our 'News' section for details of our latest events.

If you would like to become a trader at any of our markets or require any further information, then please contact the Markets Office on 0191 384 6153 or e-mail durhammarkets@yahoo.co.uk.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Durham!
